Lights, Camera, Electrification! Kicking off the Battery Workforce Challenge Year Three Competition

The grand finale is here! The Battery Workforce Challenge Year Three Competition kicks off today in the Detroit area and runs until May 7.  Teams will continue to put the final touches on their battery packs and have them inspected at Prime Energy in Troy, Mich. and then on to integration into the Ram ProMaster EV vans at the Chrysler Technical Center (CTC) in Auburn Hills, Mich.

The competition schedule matches testing flow, with activities aligned to Gates achieved, including a detailed five-stage inspection process for the integrated battery packs and a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) demonstration for team-developed Battery Management Systems (BMS) software.

Competition will also feature PMAC presentations, Sponsor Social and a Team Appreciation Night at a Detroit Tigers baseball game. Then on to the Awards Ceremony.  Except this isn’t just another competition event—it’s a Hollywood-themed, red-carpet sendoff, culminating in a glamour-forward awards ceremony worthy of the hard work students have poured into this challenge.

The “Power Premier” themed night will be filled with big energy and bright lights as we recognize standout achievements, unforgettable moments, and the teams and individuals who helped define this program – closing out this journey in true awards-season style.
