Clemson University & Greenville Technical College
About
Clemson University (Clemson, S.C.) is partnering with Greenville Technical College (Greenville, S.C.) to compete in the three-year Battery Workforce Challenge collegiate competition. This opportunity allows students to explore the world of vehicle electrification, a critical industry set to redefine the way we view transportation.
Students will have the opportunity to learn about EV batteries on an unprecedented level through hands-on research and in-person workshops.
The team is hosted at the Clemson University's International Center for Automotive Research, where participants will have access to a state-of-the-art facility. Clemson University and Greenville Technical College are honored to hold this role in the BattChallenge.
The Clemson University & Greenville Technical College team looks forward to playing a significant role in fostering the next generation of electrical and automotive engineers.
Mission
Our primary purpose is to learn and develop EV battery system design knowledge and skills through the Battery Workforce Challenge collegiate competition. We aim to inspire ourselves and our community to think deeply about and engage in the social, scientific, economic and professional challenges.
Goals
Our three goals targeted for the first year include:
- Students will be trained by industry standards in EV battery hardware design,
software development and system integration - Students will be able to work, both individually and collaboratively, to deliver complicated engineering tasks
- Benefits of team diversity will be demonstrated through the BattChallenge competition
