The Ohio State University & Columbus State Community College
About
The team consists of 25 student team members from The Ohio State University (Columbus, Ohio) and Columbus State Community College (Columbus, Ohio).
Mission
The Buckeye BattChallenge team brings together students from diverse backgrounds at OSU and CSCC to collaboratively design, build, and integrate an advanced battery pack. We promote hands-on learning, where each member’s unique skills progress sustainable technology and drive decarbonization efforts. By prioritizing knowledge sharing, diversity, and inclusion, we create a collaborative space focused on professionalism, technical excellence, and impactful innovation.
Goals
Goal 1: Actively recruit students from both OSU and CSCC across multiple disciplines to bring in fresh perspectives and innovative problem-solving approaches that strengthen our team’s technical and project management capabilities.
Goal 2: Design, assemble, and integrate a high-performing, safe, and efficient battery pack that meets competition standards and showcases our team’s engineering excellence and collaborative strength.
Goal 3: Ensure safety is practiced consistently throughout all stages of build, assembly, and testing. Conduct regular safety training and orientations for new team members to promote awareness, responsibility, and adherence to safety protocols as part of our team culture.
