About
The UABattChallenge Team is made up of students from the University of Alabama and Shelton State Community College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The team roster maintains 40 active members spread across four primary sub teams.
Mission
The University of Alabama & Shelton State Community College BattChallenge team’s mission is to support transportation electrification by educating and training a talented team of engineers, technicians and leaders and provide them with real-world, hands-on experiences.
Goals
Goal 1: Successfully power the RAM ProMaster EV with a fully functional & implemented battery module that meets key performance indicators by final competition.
Goal 2: Prepare team members to work directly in industry roles after graduation by providing hands-on experience, training, and education outside the classroom.
Goal 3: Retain at least 80% of team members from the first semester to the second semester through effective communication, role support, and experiential learning opportunities.

Get Involved
There are many ways to get involved with The University of Alabama & Shelton State Community College’s BattChallenge team. All sub-teams are accepting new members. Engineering workshops are held each week on campus at The University of Alabama in Hardaway Hall, Room 160, at the following times:
- Sunday at 2pm
- Thursday at 5:30pm
