About
The University of Waterloo is partnering with Lambton College in the Battery Workforce Challenge. This Waterloo, Canada-based team is comprised of two managers, six technical leads, four BattScholars and approximately 20 dedicated team members, bringing together academic and hands-on skills to push the boundaries of EV battery technology.
Mission
Our mission is to design a competitive EV battery pack that meets the specific demands of cold-weather performance. Our team combines expertise in mechanical, electrical and software engineering to bring innovative solutions from academia to real-world applications. As part of the Battery Workforce Challenge, we aim to develop impactful technology that complies with industry standards.
Goals
The University of Waterloo & Lambton College Battery Workforce Challenge team's year two goals include:
- Ensure each team member has clearly defined roles for project tasks, with responsibilities documented and reviewed in regular meetings for alignment and understanding.
- Validate thermal management strategies through module simulations under real-world conditions.
- Design and simulate a reliable Battery Management System for monitoring and controlling the battery module’s electrical performance.
