Announcing the EcoCAR Mobility Challenge Year One Competition

From May 19-22, more than 250 students, faculty, sponsors and organizers will gather for the EcoCAR Mobility Challenge in Atlanta, Georgia.

This week-long event marks the culmination of the first academic year of the competition, which has challenged 12 North American university teams to reengineer a 2019 Chevrolet Blazer utilizing electrification, advanced propulsion systems and SAE Level 2 automation to improve the energy efficiency, safety and consumer appeal of their vehicle for the carsharing market.

The competition will include more than six technical presentations and poster sessions ranging from propulsion system integration to connected and automated vehicle technologies, where teams will prove the viability of their designs and showcase the culmination of their year-long effort to government and industry judges.

Throughout the competition, attendees will have the opportunity to attend events such as the Opening Ceremony at Georgia Tech, including a tour of their campus and engineering facilities, a Welcome Night event at the Painted Duck, and an EcoCAR Fun Night Event at the College Football Hall of Fame sponsored by General Motors and PACCAR.

The competition finale on May 22 will include a Sponsor Social Networking & Recruiting Event at the Sheraton Atlanta where all of the EcoCAR Mobility Challenge competition sponsors will have the opportunity to recruit the competition’s top talent and will conclude with the EcoCAR Awards Reception sponsored by MathWorks and Awards Ceremony at the Fox Theatre, where teams will take home more than $100K in prize money!
