Calling all students interested in Controls! EcoCAR 3 provides engineering students with the opportunity to use real world programs and tools that leaders of the automotive industry are currently utilizing to develop and test their own software. Throughout the course of the competition, the EcoCAR 3 Controls team is responsible for having nearly every component in the vehicle function correctly.
On each EcoCAR 3 team, the Controls team will have the opportunity to develop software for the supervisory controller that allows each team’s 2016 Chevrolet Camaro to function more efficiently. Specifically, students will have the chance to write code using MATLAB and Simulink, program and interface with dozens of embedded controllers, and develop highly complex algorithms to control every aspect of the hybrid drivetrains.
