LYRIQ Parades through Embry-Riddle and Bethune-Cookman Campuses

Written by: Skye Myers

The unveiling of the 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ at the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) Activities Fair ignited a buzz across the campus. For three days, the cutting-edge vehicle took center stage, captivating the entire student body and faculty alike. Its sleek design and innovative features drew crowds, making it a focal point of the event.

With numerous clubs in attendance, the fair evolved into a showcase of innovation, where the LYRIQ stood as a beacon of futuristic automotive engineering. Its presence extended beyond the fair, it became a visual of what our schools are really about. Students engaged with the vehicle, marveling at its features and envisioning the future it represents. The occasion was elevated by the enthusiastic support of the EcoCAR leadership team, their presence amplifying the significance of this collaboration.

The momentum continued as the LYRIQ made its way to Bethune-Cookman’s homecoming week, taking part in the vibrant parade and subsequently making its debut on the BCU campus. This second feature event served as an extension, allowing a broader college audience to witness the fusion of automotive innovation and academic excellence. The collaboration between institutions fostered an environment where students could witness groundbreaking technology firsthand.  As the LYRIQ departed back to the team’s garage, it left a mark on all students.

The 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ has had an eventful first semester in Daytona Beach, traveling to outreach events around Volusia County. In early October, the vehicle was brought to Campbell Middle School for their monthly afterschool program where parents and students come together to eat dinner and bond. The LYRIQ also attended the RJ Longstreet Elementary School annual Career Carnival where over 300 parents and students came by to check out the Cadillac and learn about AVTCs.
