Martin Guinto joined the University of Victoria’s EcoCAR 2 Team as the Business Manager in January of 2014.
Apart from a dynamic personality, Martin has brought an insatiable passion for renewable energy and a wealth of business knowledge to the UVic EcoCAR 2 Team. He is currently completing his last semester of his undergraduate degree in international business at UVic. During semesters off he has continued his education through various work experiences, most recently at Oxford Business Group.
The position of Business Manager for UVic’s EcoCAR 2 Team has fit seamlessly with Martin’s interests and strengths. From his previous work experiences and course-work, he was able to develop a business strategy, which has attracted more than $24,000 in monetary contributions from team sponsors in British Columbia.
Martin’s personality extends beyond UVic’s Green Garage and the classroom. He is an avid cook and, much to the dismay of the UVic team, is an unrelenting fan of the San Antonio Spurs. His all-encompassing interest in Green Technology has convinced him that he will be moving to Belgium in the future “to ideally become a part of the Renewable Energy movement”.
