OSU & Columbus State BattChallenge team’s inspiring the future of the battery workforce

Columbus State Community College, the vocational partner that’s teaming up with The Ohio State University in the Battery Workforce Challenge, recently led an impactful youth outreach event aimed at inspiring the next generation of automotive professionals. This event focused on introducing vocational and high school students in Ohio to the cutting-edge realms of battery technology and EVs, paving the way for a more sustainable future in automotive innovation.

The Ohio State University & Columbus State Community College Battery Workforce Challenge team, leveraging their expertise and ongoing research, led these sessions with a focus on demystifying the complex technologies behind EVs and lithium-ion batteries. Through interactive presentations, the team explored the principles of battery operation, emphasizing the critical aspects of thermal management, safety protocols and the importance of sustainable design choices in battery and EV development.
