From October 5-7 EcoCAR teams, sponsors and organizers gathered at the MathWorks headquarters in Natick MA for the Year 2 Fall Workshop.
The event kicked off with a warm welcome from Andy Grace VP of Engineering, Design and Automation, MathWorks and opening remarks from Alycia Gilde, National Manager for ZEV Partnerships and Engagement, U.S. Department of Energy and Chris Trush, Director of ADAS Application Software, General Motors.
Over a dozen EcoCAR sponsors provided critical training to teams in the areas of Engineering, Project Management, Equity in Mobility and Communications. These training sessions will better prepare teams to tackle the deliverables and engineering challenges they will face this year.
In addition to training, job-seeking students had the opportunity to meet with industry sponsors about internships and full-time positions at the Sponsor Social Networking and Recruitment event that took place Friday, Oct 5. Teams also enjoyed an evening filled with team bonding activities and seafood at the Team Appreciation Night hosted by MathWorks.
“We’d like to thank all of the Students, Faculty, and Sponsors for joining us at the Lakeside Campus for the Fall workshop,” said Lauren Tabolinsky, Global Student and Academic Programs Manager at The MathWorks. “We look forward to the teams building up their vehicles to compete at the first EV Challenge competition with dynamic events this spring!”
Thank you to all students and sponsors who made this event a success! We look forward to the Winter Workshop in February 2024.
