EcoCAR 3 Teams, Sponsors, and Organizers have gathered in Natick, MA for the Fall Workshop, which kicks off Year Two of the EcoCAR 3 competition!
“MathWorks is pleased to host the EcoCAR 3 Fall Workshop at our headquarters in Natick, MA,” said Paul Smith, Director of Consulting Services at MathWorks. “It’s a great opportunity to have future engineers, who will undoubtedly play a role in the advances of automotive technology, on-site for hands-on training. We look forward to an action packed week of learning and team-building activities!”
Teams have been participating in multi-track training featuring competition sponsors U.S. Department of Energy, General Motors, Argonne National Laboratory, MathWorks, dSPACE, Freescale, AVL Powertrain, Siemens, GKN Driveline, Ricardo, Tesa Tape, Champlain, Mentor Graphics, Weber Shandwick, and more! Teams will receive an update on Year Two competition rules, upcoming deliverables and EcoCAR 3 events for the coming year.
Teams also have the opportunity to receive valuable and extensive training in donated software and components from competition-level sponsors. Communications managers and project managers each have a dedicated track in which they will learn about the communications and project management deliverables for the year. The communications managers are participating in media relations & video production training, while the project managers focus on building leadership skills and quality management.
On Wednesday night, teams had the opportunity to attend the Sponsor Social Networking and Recruiting event to mingle with the industry’s leading companies. In addition, the teams enjoyed a night out in Boston at Cheers Faneuil Hall Marketplace, hosted by MathWorks Friday evening.
