At a young age, Jessica Britt knew that she wanted to become an engineer because of her love for science and math. Now, she is the Advanced Vehicle Technology Competition Systems Modeling and Controls Engineer at Argonne National Laboratory and an organizer for the current EcoCAR Mobility Challenge. In her current role, Jessica has the opportunity to inspire the next generation of automotive engineers. She is responsible for managing competition activities related to modeling, simulation testing, controls, HMI, and systems safety.
Jessica attended Georgia Tech and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with Highest Honors in 2017; in 2018, she earned her Master’s Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a focus on Control Systems. While at Georgia Tech, Jessica participated in all four years of the EcoCAR 3 competition.
Over the course of the competition, Jessica served in many leadership roles including: Modeling, Simulation, and Controls (CSMS) Team Lead, Systems Safety Manager, and Project Management Team Lead; she was also a team member of the electrical subteam and communications subteam. Jessica participated in the beginning stages of the EcoCAR Mobility Challenge by serving in an advisory role to new team leads at Georgia Tech.
