Teams Compete in Dynamic Testing at Year Three Competition

Despite the dreary weather in Michigan, spirits were high as the EcoCAR 2 students pushed through Day 4 at General Motors Milford Proving Grounds. It was a very exciting day in the garage today as three teams – Ohio State, Wayne State, and Penn State – successfully completed the 100-mile emissions and energy consumption (E&EC) overnight! This is a very big event for teams, which is worth up to 300 of the 1,000 competition points.

Other highlights include:

  • Five new teams passed safety tech, including University of Victoria, University of Washington, North Carolina State University, Mississippi State University, and Purdue University
  • Penn State became the first team to complete and pass the AVL DRIVE Quality event
  • Ohio State completed dynamic consumer acceptability
  • Virginia Tech and the University of Victoria becoming the 4th and 5th teams to complete on-road safety evaluation

So by the end of Day 4, we have had 11 teams pass safety tech, five teams complete on-road safety, and three teams complete E&EC! Stay up to date with the Year Three Competition by following us on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and Instagram.
